Product Patent Reform and its Impact on Korea's Pharmaceutical Industry

Our analysis focuses on the effect of U.S. government pressure on Korea to adopt product patents for chemical and pharmaceutical products. American pressure began in November 1985 and ended with the Korean Legislature's passage of a new patent law in December 1986. We conduct an event study of the effect of the new patent law on the value of Korean pharmaceutical firms listed on the Korea Stock Exchange. Regression analysis shows that the new law induced excess returns of-74 percent over the 14-month analysis period. The results suggest that adoption of stronger patent laws reduced Korea's wealth. 基于CD4052的温度采样系统的设计

在温度采样系统中,经常遇到单片机A/D引脚不够的情况,现以CD4052为基础,把软件操作系统分时复用的思想应用到单片机编程中,结合CD4052选通不同的通道,实现较少A/D引脚采样多处温度点的功能。     

非抽样误差函数的构建——基于抽样框缺陷基础上的讨论

使用不准确的抽样框是抽样调查中产生非抽样误差的一个主要原因。本文运用概率统计方法分析三类有缺陷的抽样框对抽样方差的影响，构建三类抽样框缺陷下的非抽样误差函数，为进一步定量分析抽样框缺陷与非抽样误差的关系提供依据。

本文从技术上探讨了整群抽样在社会经济调查中的适应性及其基本运用,重点分析了整群抽样在实施过程中的误差问题,指出并分析了总体的变异效应、群体效应、单位比率变异度的效应、群体规模效应和偏差效应等五种因素对整群抽样的误差的影响方式和特点,并分析了各种情况下的具体处理方法。     

A true simulation study of three estimators at equal protection of respondents in randomized response sampling

In this study, three different estimators for estimating the proportion of a sensitive attribute in survey sampling are compared at equal protection of the respondents. The three estimators considered are due to Odumade and Singh (2009, Comm. Statist. Theory Methods) , Singh and Sedory (2011, Sociological Methods and Research) and a new estimator obtained by minimizing a chi‐squared distance. A SAS Macro is developed to compare these three estimators using a simulation study at equal protection of the respondents. A set of data from a real face‐to‐face interview was collected using two decks of cards and has been analyzed. The results are discussed.     

Probabilistic Models for Bacterial Taxonomy

We give a survey of different partitioning methods that have been applied to bacterial taxonomy. We introduce a theoretical framework, which makes it possible to treat the various models in a unified way. The key concepts of our approach are prediction and storing of microbiological information in a Bayesian forecasting setting. We show that there is a close connection between classification and probabilistic identification and that, in fact, our approach ties these two concepts together in a coherent way.
